During 2015 the Dell School Parent Teachers Association worked with volunteers to improve some areas of the school grounds. It was agreed that the flower bed outside the front of the school was a priority as it occupies a prominent position and it had been neglected for some years. A local resident and member of Transition Chepstow/Bee Friendly Monmouthshire/the Wildlife Gardening Forum was invited to work with the PTA to develop an appropriate management plan for the flower bed and in October 2015 volunteers from the PTA cleared and replanted it.
